Married to the Dragon King, Benzai-Ten pauses to speak with one of her new husband's messengers. Her serene expression seems to reveal nothing, though the dragon messenger is a good sign - if her new husband is hospitable enough to send one, then her mission is complete. It seems to her that years have passed since her wedding day, when she wed the Dragon King to stop his rampaging and killing of the children by this shore. Each night she has spent time soothing him and singing him to sleep with the beauty of her flute playing and at last the Dragon King and his bride are at peace as are the people around them.

Benzai-Ten is one of the seven lucky Gods of Japan and the only female among them. She is a Goddess of the sea, art, poetry, learning, and a protector of children.
